Incompatible Foods


According to the ancient wisdom of Ayurvedic Medicine, some food combinations will disturb and interfere with the proper functioning of the digestive system, which consequently may lead to indigestion, bloating, gas formation as well as fermentation within the digestive tract. Whenever you suffer from these kinds of imbalances, please check if you are eating foods that are not compatible.


 
 


FOODS


SHOULD NOT BE EATEN WITH:


Milk


Anything sour, salty or spicy, do not mix milk with sour fruits, such as oranges, lemons, or bananas, as well as fish, yogurt, melons or bread with yeast.

Lemons


Yogurt, Milk, Tomatoes or Cucumbers


Yogurt


Milk, sour fruits, melons, fish, hot drinks, such as coffee or tea, mango, starches, cheese or bananas, or after sundown.


Honey


Ghee (clarified butter) in equal proportions, in terms of weight.

Never heat honey in any way, by putting it into a hot drink, baking or cooking with honey.

Melons


Melons should not be eaten with any meal, always eat them alone, and don’t eat them with grains, starches, fried foods or cheese


Nightshades:

Tomatoes, eggplants, potatoes


Yogurt, Milk, Melon, Cucumber


Eggs


Milk, yogurt, cheese, fruits, melons, potatoes

 
 

Not everybody will react the same way to these incompatible foods, because everybody has a different digestive strength. To remain healthy it is best to avoid these combinations.
